About the KDHCA
The Kelley Direct Healthcare Association is creating a robust community of Kelley Direct students employed or interested in the areas of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and hospital administration. The KDHCA has provided students opportunities to get involved in real-world, credit-earning consulting experiences. The companies that KDHCA has consulted for include industry-leaders in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and vaccinations.
The KDHCA regularly presents interactive webinars focused on current topics in the healthcare industry. Industry experts and Kelley Direct alumni present to the KDHCA and answer questions live. Past webinars topics include Social Media & Marketing in the Healthcare Industry (Nov. 2014), Kelley Direct Alumni in Healthcare Panel Discussion (Sept. 2014), Creating Winning Marketing Plans in the Life Sciences Industry (April 2014), Connecting Providers & Patients: Navigating Haystacks of Needles (Feb. 2014), and Securing Venture Capital in the Life Sciences Industry (Oct. 2013).
Upcoming webinars include An Overview of the Oncology Marketplace, A Primer on Consulting, and Introducing Moffitt Cancer Center’s Mission and Strategy. Please check the Events Page for the most up to date details.
The KDHCA is having its first in-person meeting in March 2014, in Tampa, Florida. Registration for attending the meeting is closed. Attendees will be visiting H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center on Friday for the Kelley Day of Discovery, and club meetings and alumni speakers will present on Saturday. After the in-person meeting, attendees will provide recommendations to the Moffitt Cancer Center executive leadership on key business issues discussed during the on-site visit.
Opportunities to participate in the KDHCA frequently arise. The KDHCA is looking for enthusiastic students to join the group, and welcome individual’s leadership on projects important to the individual. The KDHCA fielded a team consisting of a CEO, PhD, Technology Manager, and Finance Manager that applied to a MBA Healthcare Case Competition. Unfortunately, the team was waitlisted. The KDHCA would support the application of a team for the Wake Forest Case Competition, and would assist any student who wished to put together a team.
